Stewardship
Bulletin # 1
What is Stewardship? Over the next months the East District Stewardship Committee
would like to share in some detail the following Principles it has
gleaned from the Board of Stewardship of the Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod. It is their prayer that these principles
will be a blessing to our members as together we seek to joyfully
serve our Lord in the vocations to which he has graciously called
us in Christ.

Bulletin # 2
I. God's Stewards are God's Stewards. God's stewards are stewards by virtue of creation and their
re-creation in Holy Baptism; therefore, they belong to the Lord.
Stewardship is, as a Lutheran leader long ago said,
"everything I do after I say I believe."

Recycling Ideas:
The Freecycle Network (in Canada) (a secular
organization)
Before you buy. and before you throw away...Keep you unwanted
stuff out of the dump...stop being a pack-rat because unwanted
things are "waiting for a good home"...ask, and ye might just
receive... The FreeCycle network is a way to offer or request
free items in your community, in order to keep things out of the
dump as much as possible. There are FreeCycle groups almost
everywhere in Canada. It can also be useful when seeking common
items at no cost for special social ministry needs (posting "for
church helping someone out" often helps).

Recycling Ideas:
The Lutheran Book Free Recycle Group
This is an email group about keeping books out of the landfills,
and passing them on to people who can use them. Post offers or
requests, and if someone's extra matches someone else's need,
just exchange the cost of postage.
