cancellation of the East District Confirmand Retreat (May 14-16). The positive
response from the fall retreat prompted us to add another Confirmand retreat in
the spring – a new thing for our District. Unfortunately, due to low
registration we will not be able to offer this retreat this year. To those who
have already registered please accept out deepest apologies. The registrar will
return your fees in short order. On a more positive note, please stay tuned as
in June we will be publishing the date and registration materials for the fall
East District Confirmation Retreat and we hope to see all returning and new

Born in England, son of a Jewish cab driver, Coren became a Roman Catholic in
his twenties. After some time in Evangelical circles he returned to the Catholic
Church in 2004. Coren is well-known for being provocative and
politically-incorrect, but also strongly pro-life and pro-family. He is also the
author of a dozen books including biographies of G.K. Chesterton, H.G. Wells and
C.S. Lewis. Please plan now on inviting your un-churched, de-churched,

Canada on the CP ship Beaverbrae. A reunion of former passengers, family and

This workshop will briefly
explore: the history of confirmation; the 5 Cries of Youth; examine different
teaching techniques; review of input from other LCC Clergy; and allow time for
workshop participants to share what they find works well in teaching
confirmation, what doesn’t, and what can be done to improved the task of
teaching confirmation.

Part I:
The first three parts to this
session seek to answer the question: “What does the pastor of a congregation
need to know so that he may be a liturgical pastor, his organist a liturgical
organist, and his choir a liturgical choir.” The final portion of the session
will bring these three elements together in a description of the liturgical
service and what it brings to worshipers.
Part II:
This Liturgical session is a meeting place for a number of matters relating to
the liturgical service that may be considered as matters of adiaphora, but which
are important in helping more effectively to communicate the Gospel. Segments
include Rubrics, Chanting, and Ancillary Miscellany (sacramentals, vestments,
architecture, etc.)
Cost: $10 for either morning or afternoon session; $20 for day.
Lunch is included.
